National Dog Day!

Susan at QuiltFabrication is having a fun Linkup party for all the dog lovers everywhere.  I love dogs and have had a few special dogs in my life.  Our dog right now is Max.  He's a rescue and he couldn't be a nicer dog.  We were told that he was abused and chained up in the back yard all his life.  The very first night in our house, he slept on a soft pillow.  We are so blessed to have him for seven years now.  He's such a gentle loving dog.  All he ever wants is to be pet and go for a walk.  He loves his daily walk even though some days he had to take a break or two.  We think he's about 14 years old.  Last January, I made Max a new coat, you can read about it here.

In April, I was commissioned to make this baby quilt for a friend's grandson.  I was told that they love dogs.  It was such a fun quilt to make.  This is the first dog quilt I made and I'm sure there will be more to come.

This quilt is made using Faux Rag Quilting technique in my book "Soft & Cozy Keepsakes - Faux Rag Quilting" by the AQS.

Go to National Dog Day 2022 to see all the dog lovers linkup.

Have a great day and thanks for visiting.

A Gift For a Dear Friend's Sister

I took a break from quilting the wedding gift quilt to make a rush gift for a dear friend's sister.  She's undergoing breast cancer treatments.  I made this piece last year as a back for another quilt, you can see it here.  But it didn't workout well, so I saved it for something else.  I showed them some quilt top pictures and they picked this one.  Two weeks ago, I sent it to a longarmer to have it quilted and here it is.  I just finished the binding.

I named this quilt 'Sisters' Love' because I was so touched with the way they take care of each other.  Life is precious; to have someone devoted to you is a blessing.

Quilt stats;

August OMG and Fabric Pull for a New Project

It’s time to set OMG for August. This month goal is to finish quilting the wedding gift.  You can go to the Elm Street Quilts to see more OMG link-up.

Today I also pulled some fabric out for a new project.  There may be one or two more additional colors to this pile.

These colors make me very happy, just from looking at them.  I'm very excited about this new idea that I have.  I'll talk more about it as the project progresses.

Thanks for visiting and have a great sewing time!
