A New Project

I've been busy sewing.  This week I'm making a back piece for a quilt called 'Candy Box 2'.  Once again, I'm having a lot of fun working on it.  It's totally an improv piece.  Come to think of it, most of my work lately has been done with improv technique.  Can we call improv a technique?  Anyone care to jump into a discussion?  Anyway, I think we can call it a technique.

Here is the picture.

Candy Box 2 - back (65"x80")

I love the idea of a quilt back that has a relationship with the front.  All the colors of the front is also on the back.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

  1. Your quilt back is beautiful! What a fun and clever use of scraps from the top. Improv is maybe not a technique like Appliqué or Piecing, but maybe a technique in the way Crazy or Mixed media are. A great discussion theme!
Thank you for linking up ;)

  2. Oh, it's gorgeous & I'm sure we can call Improv a technique. Our quilt endeavours can lead into all sorts of unexpected "techniques" & improvisation on any front, can be either random or sometimes a necessary evil, when things don't go to plan or if you run short of fabric etc. Just think, unforeseen mistakes could be left & called improv.(giggle). Thanks for the advice you sent me & I did it....looks good on my sidebar, but it's going to be quiet here for a while with another lockdown in Victoria. Sewing will be in full swing I think for winter. Take care, stay safe & hugs.

    1. I'm with you there. Quilting is a journey for sure and running short of fabric is often a road block for me. :-)
You're welcome and your sidebar looks great!!

  3. Great back OR could definitely be a modern quilt top so you will have a two sided quilt. Love it!

  5. Wow! This quilt (I can't bring myself to call it a back, it's too wonderful), provides an amazing optical illusion. I found myself moving my head back and forth to capture the illusion.
