Happy Easter to you all.
One of my last projects of the year 2024 was the 'Adventure In Time', you can read about it here. I left it on the design wall all this time while I worked on other things for the holidays and finished my dear friend's quilt here.
When I was ready to work on it, I felt something wasn’t quite right. I looked and looked at it for many days and finally decided to make some changes, actually, a lot of changes.
It took a few days to undo most of the stitches. I made some new pieces and rearranged the whole thing. Sometimes, a project needs a drastic adjustment to make it right. This is what's on the design wall right now.
I don't know where this piece will end up. I will spend some more days to work on it.
At this time of Easter celebration, I would like to share this hymn with you. I'm so grateful for my Savior, Jesus Christ. Without him I would be lost.
The Lord is My Shepherd
1. The Lord is my Shepherd; no want shall I know.
I feed in green pastures; safe-folded I rest.
He leadeth my soul where the still waters flow,
Restores me when wand'ring, redeems when oppressed,
Restores me when wand'ring, redeems when oppressed.
2. Thru the valley and shadow of death though I stray,
Since thou art my Guardian, no evil I fear.
Thy rod shall defend me, thy staff be my stay.
No harm can befall with my comforter near.
No harm can befall with my comforter near.
3. In the midst of affliction my table is spread.
With blessings unmeasured my cup runneth o'er.
With perfume and oil thou anointest my head.
Oh, what shall I ask of thy providence more?
Oh, what shall I ask of thy providence more?

I have to say, after going back and looking at your original, I like your changes - even though I liked the original! :D My thinking is that it looks more open - it is very attractive.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your song. I have had several "Easter" songs on my mind the last few days. I grew up singing from The Cokesbury Hymnal, and those old songs are ingrained in my brain. They are almost as good as scripture for me!
You have such a strong artistic voice, Margo. I'm impressed you made the decision to disassemble and then reassemble in a new set up, your current quilt. I can imagine multiple quilts made with the same shapes and color ways, perhaps forming a triptych.
ReplyDeleteI must say I love the new version that is emerging here! you are on to something special. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

I've been working to get a quilt just right also. I like what you currently have on your design wall.
ReplyDeleteThose are interesting changes - I like them - and look forward to seeing what you do with it!
ReplyDeleteI love this piece. So glad you have resurrected it!
ReplyDeleteWorking with denim can be tricky to get enough variation. I like what you have going on! Keep going!
ReplyDeleteI love how you rotated the side "sun", and its new place under the first one. I find this new placement more open and brighter. I can't wait to see how you will continue with it! Thank you for sharing your art and linking up.
ReplyDeleteThe new arrangement feels lighter somehow. Have fun fiddling with it until you get it where you want it to go!
ReplyDeleteHi Margo, I hope that you had a happy Easter. Sometimes pieces need drastic re-designs. Looking forward to seeing the results! Thanks for linking up to Free Motion Mavericks.
