The top of Adventure In Time is done. I thought I've done it and finally got some resolution to my uncertainty. It's because I struggled with this project. My approach to this project, like many projects in the past, is pure improvisation. I don't have a final look in mind, ie. I didn't know what I was doing. 😊 🤭
The only thing I knew was that I would use denim again. I made a piece and put it on the design wall, then the following pieces based on the first piece would emerge. I made several pieces and put them together. I would go on until I got the look that was "right". The struggle was that with this project, I didn't get the look that I LOVED so I went on and on until I got this layout.
I thought, ok, this is it. I liked what I saw. While I was editing the picture for a new blog post, I rotated the picture and I saw this.
Now its time to make a back for this piece.
Thanks for visiting with me and have a great day!
Margo

That rotation was just what it needed. I'd suggest "Seeing You in a New Way" as the name. Thanks for sharing in Sew & Tell. And congratulations on the finish!
ReplyDeleteRotating your piece made it come alive! It looks like Disney's WALL-E to me. :)
ReplyDeleteOh yes, what a great idea! And now when I look at the first version again, I see it upside down ;)) I'm not very good at coming up with names for quilts, but I'm sure you'll find the right name for this pretty face! Thank you for sharing your creative process and linking up.
ReplyDeleteWow what a remarkable difference! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI like the rotated version. It is amazing how different it looks!
ReplyDeleteI agree it is amazing how different it "feel" turned. And it really is more dynamic the new way. Cool quilt.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a lot of fun with this quilt project! I also like it in the rotated version. So interesting to see how designs change when you do that!
ReplyDeleteAn evolution indeed! Maybe that's the name--Evolution. The piece looks like a futuristic face to me, so evolution fits. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

Love it! It looks very futuristic
ReplyDeleteI love it Margo!! I really like the way you turned it. It does look like Gizmo but it also looks like a big bird peering in the window! LOL Thanks for sharing with us!
ReplyDeleteHi Margo, that is very cool. Amazing what a new perspective brings! Looking forward to seeing it quilted. Thanks for linking up to Free Motion Mavericks.
ReplyDeleteWOW!! I admire how you made this quilt! All improvising! I, too, love how it looks once it was turned! Thanks for linking to TGIFF!
ReplyDeleteI love this! I’m terrible with names, but the rotated version looks so whimsical.
ReplyDeleteHi Margo. You are right! The rotation just makes it shine. No suggestions for a name from me, but I’m sure you’ll find the right one. Thank you for sharing on ToDo Tuesday. Hope this week was filled with fabric fun. 😁 Carol
ReplyDeleteSecond version is great - and it's obviously a lady putting on her makeup for a special date.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I like your interpretatio of this layout. It’s so fun!
