The Adventure in Time top is done and a new evolution

The top of Adventure In Time is done.   I thought I've done it and finally got some resolution to my uncertainty.  It's because I  struggled with this project.  My approach to this project, like many projects in the past, is pure improvisation.  I don't have a final look in mind, ie. I didn't know what I was doing.  😊 🤭

The only thing I knew was that I would use denim again.  I made a piece and put it on the design wall, then the following pieces based on the first piece would emerge.  I made several pieces and put them together.  I would go on until I got the look that was "right".  The struggle was that with this project, I didn't get the look that I LOVED so I went on and on until I got this layout.

I thought, ok, this is it.  I liked what I saw.  While I was editing the picture for a new blog post, I rotated the picture and I saw this.

Wham! I liked it.  This is a new evolution of the Adventure in Time.  It's exciting, whimsical and fun.  It's unlike anything I've made before.  I want to change the name to fit this new look.  I don't know yet what the new name of this piece will be.  I welcome all suggestions.  Leave some comments and let me know which version you like better. Let's have some fun.  My DH said it looks like Gizmo from Gremlins. LOL

To me it looks like a futuristic masquerade.  I wonder who would wear it?

Now its time to make a back for this piece.

Work in Progress 6/2/2025

Hello friends:

I'm back after a long absence.  There was a lot going on last month and I just couldn't bring myself to blogging.  When I concentrate on something and have to make decisions, I often retreat into myself and be quiet for awhile.  We need a time and place to disconnect from the world, to think, and we may discover a new path to our solution.  I think we all need that.  I had to make a few decisions about this quilt and one of them was that should I just quit on this and make something else. 

In addition, someone who meant a lot to me passed away.  She was like a mother to me.  I called her my USA mom.  When I first came to this country, I met this couple at church.  They had 6 children; 4 boys and 2 girls.  They took me in as if I was one of theirs.  They were so kind to me and helped me to adjust to this new land and custom.  Dad passed away two years ago and now she's gone too.  The only consolation I have is that they are together again; no more being apart.  

That's why you haven't heard from me for awhile.  After much thoughts, I decided to come back to this quilt and start making some progress.

I'm quite happy with what I see right now.  I can move forward to finishing the quilt top. I'm glad that I didn't give up on this project.  I've gone over the hurdles that almost caused the whole thing to come to a halt.  I'm getting excited about this project again.  I have ideas about quilting it too.  Can't wait!!
